What Is KPV?
KPV is a naturally occurring tripeptide composed of three amino acids — lysine, proline, and valine — representing the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It was identified as the active anti-inflammatory core of α-MSH: retaining the hormone's powerful anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating properties while eliminating the melanin-stimulating (skin darkening) and appetite-affecting actions that make the full α-MSH molecule impractical for most therapeutic applications.
KPV's small molecular size, natural origin, and multi-route administration options (subcutaneous, oral, and topical) make it one of the most versatile anti-inflammatory peptides in the research catalogue. It is particularly valued for its affinity for gastrointestinal tissue — where it directly addresses gut inflammation, mucosal repair, and intestinal barrier integrity — as well as its potent effects on skin inflammation, wound healing, and systemic inflammatory conditions.

1.
